How To Train for Aesthetics
Once taboo procedures that you’d only read about in magazines- botox, fillers and injectables, are now widely accepted. So it might not come as a surprise to learn that training in aesthetic medicine has become highly sort after, as more and more medical professionals look to join this fun and lucrative industry. While Doctors and Dentists can train in aesthetics, our advanced aesthetic practitioner course is designed specifically for APHRA Registered Nurses. Whether you’re new to nursing or have been a registered nurse for five to fifty years, it’s never too late to shake things up, learn a new skill and step outside the traditional clinical role. Our cosmetic courses for nurses are the perfect stepping stone to launch you into a new and exciting career without needing years of study.
Training for aesthetics will differ depending on the company; however, at the CPD Institute, we use a combination of in-person and virtual demonstrations to equip our new graduates with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to become a cosmetic nurse. We start with facial anatomy, identifying the best treatments for clients and how to manage adverse effects. Once we establish fundamentals, we deep dive into therapies, including skin needling, injectables and medical-grade chemical peels. In addition to learning cosmetic skills and theory, we teach our students business and communication skills to start up and run their cosmetic clinics.
Aesthetic courses for nurses
While numerous cosmetic courses are on the market, it’s essential to find a reliable and accredited provider who follows the latest guidelines in delivering non-surgical cosmetic treatments. We are a leading Australian provider of aesthetic training courses for nurses, teaching you both theory and practical skills through hands-on learning to become a qualified cosmetic nurse. We have a range of courses depending on your level of commitment, budget and specialist area of interest.
Certificates in Cosmetic Nursing
If you’re new to the world of cosmetic medicine and want to dip your toe in before committing to an advanced course, our certificate of cosmetic nursing is a great starting point. It’s a four-day introductory course providing a comprehensive overview of injectables and fillers. You’ll learn theory and gain hands-on practice to become a Certified Practitioner Cosmetic Injector. For a more in-depth course covering modern treatments, including platelet-rich plasma facials and mesotherapy, along with additional time to practice your injectables skills, our advanced certificate in cosmetic nursing or advanced aesthetic practitioner course may be better options for you.
Cosmetic injectable modules
Perhaps you have specific areas of interest and would prefer to focus on one module at a time. We offer individual courses across 1-3 days covering injectables, dermaplaning, fillers, and filler tear through injections.
Platelet-rich plasma
After completing our platelet-rich plasma course, cosmetic nurses will be able to explain the science and benefits of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), manage client expectations, understand treatment techniques, and perform this latest beauty trend.
Advanced skin science training
Our advanced skin science training aims to enhance your knowledge and confidence in answering client’s skin questions. We cover advanced skin rejuvenation procedures, including skin needling, medical-grade chemical peels, and primary facials to deliver the latest cosmetic science.
Mesotherapy training
Our one-day mesotherapy course educates nurses on the benefits of injecting amino acids, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and minerals to reduce the signs of ageing. This state-of-the-art treatment works to promote collagen and elastin production to replenish and nourish the skin, improving elasticity, tone, firmness, and hydration.

While hundreds of cosmetic treatments are available, injectables are arguably still the most popular. Non-surgical, with little to no side effects and quick recovery time, it’s easy to see why women and men turn to injectables for fast, easy and beautiful results. Our two-day injectable courses are the quickest way to start performing injectable treatments if you want to upskill but don’t have time to complete a full certificate.
