This course will prepare you with the knowledge and skills for the management of dermal filler adverse events and complications, including vascular occlusion management with hyaluronidase, and is developed specifically for APHRA registered Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses. This course provides you with the knowledge and skills related to:
  • Dermal filler adverse reactions including;
    •   –   Bruising, oedema, Infections, biofilms, allergic reactions, nodules, granulomas, tyndall’s, and more
  • Vascular complications including;
    •   –   Vascular occlusion, blindness, stroke
  • Mitigating risk
  • Management of adverse reactions & complications
  • What is Hyaluronidase/hyalase?
  • Hyalase use in aesthetic practice
  • Risks & Screening patients
  • Hyalase equipment & preparation
Understanding how to identify and manage the varying adverse reactions that can occur during and post dermal filler treatments is vital in mitigating the risks, avoiding serious complications, improving patient outcomes and improving patient satisfaction. This course will take your through a variety of dermal filler adverse reactions from minor to serious, and discuss the prevention of and management of these events. Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this module, you should be able to:
  • Understand how to Identify and manage dermal filler adverse events including bruising, nodules, Tyndall’s, allergic reactions and more.
  • Understand how to identify and manage vascular complications including, vascular occlusion, blindness and stroke.
  • Define what is Hyaluronidase and its use in aesthetic practice.
  • Understand the importance of screening patients prior to dermal filler treatments
  • Understand how to prepare Hyaluronidase for emergency and non-emergency use
  • Identify risks associated with Hyaluronidase use
  • Deliver safer patient outcomes
